Online tutoring, one-on-one, every week

The same Impact approach our Hubs have run for over a decade: a relaxed phone call first, a tutor matched to your child, then live 1:1 lessons at the same time every week. From Kaitaia to Bluff, if you have internet, you have a great tutor.

Why families choose Impact online

  • One-on-one, not a group. Online lessons are 1:1, so the whole hour is about your child, their gaps and their wins.
  • The same tutor every week. Matched on subject and personality after a phone consultation, because confidence comes before marks.
  • Built on an assessment, not guesswork. Juniors start with a full numeracy and literacy assessment so lessons target what actually needs work.
  • Real accountability. Progress updates in plain English, and online courses from our Need-to-know Maths Club to practise between lessons.
  • No lock-in contracts. Lessons from $58 an hour, and you stay because it works.

Online tutoring questions, answered

How do Impact's online lessons actually run?

Live, one-on-one, and weekly at a set day and time. Your child works with the same matched tutor every week on a plan built around their school programme, and parents get plain-English updates on progress.

Is online tutoring as good as in person?

Online lessons with Impact are 1:1, while in-person lessons at our Hubs are 1:2, so online students get a tutor's full attention for the whole hour. The approach, resources and tutors are the same.

What does online tutoring cost in NZ?

One-hour weekly lessons from $58 for juniors through to $70 for adult learners, always one-on-one online. A full junior numeracy and literacy assessment is $249. There are no lock-in contracts.

What ages and subjects do you cover online?

Year 1 through to Year 13 and adult learners: maths and English from the foundations up, NCEA Levels 1 to 3 across more than 12 subjects, CAA co-requisite preparation, and adult literacy and numeracy.

What does my child need for online lessons?

A computer or tablet with a camera and internet, somewhere reasonably quiet, and that is it. Tutors handle the rest and are used to helping students get comfortable in the first session.

Because You Count

It starts with a chat, not a test.

Fifteen to forty-five minutes on the phone about what is going on at school. No obligation, and you will come away with a clear next step.
