Tutoring in Hamilton, because your child counts

Hamilton is Impact's home turf. We started thirty minutes down the road in Te Awamutu, and Hamilton students get the same thing that built our reputation across the Waikato: one-on-one lessons with a matched tutor, every week, online or in person at the Hub.

Built around Hamilton students

Hamilton has more tutoring brands than any other Waikato town, and most of them run timetabled group sessions. Impact is built the other way around: your child, one tutor, a plan from an assessment. We work with students from Hamilton Boys' and Girls' High, Hillcrest High, Fraser High, Rototuna Junior and Senior High, St Paul's Collegiate, Sacred Heart and the city's full spread of primaries and intermediates.

Every student starts with a relaxed phone call so we understand what is going on at school, then we match them with the right tutor. Juniors can begin with a full numeracy and literacy assessment so lessons target the real gaps from day one.

How online lessons work

  • One-on-one, live with your child's own matched tutor
  • Same tutor, same day and time, every week
  • Built around their school programme, from Year 1 to NCEA Level 3 and adult learning
  • Plain-English progress updates for parents

Your nearest Hub: Te Awamutu Hub

Our founding Hub is in Te Awamutu, half an hour south of Hamilton. Jean McKenzie started Impact there, and some Hamilton families use it for in-person sessions.

Te Awamutu Hub is locally owned and run by Narelle Brooks. In-person lessons there are 1:2, online lessons are 1:1, and both follow the same Impact approach.

Hamilton tutoring questions, answered

Does Impact Tutoring have a centre in Hamilton?

Our nearest Hub is in Te Awamutu, 30 minutes south, where Impact began. Most Hamilton families choose online 1:1 lessons and skip the drive; some combine online with occasional in-person sessions at the Hub.

Hamilton already has tutoring centres. Why go online with Impact?

Because 1:1 beats a group for most students. Online lessons are one-on-one for the whole hour with the same matched tutor every week, and you get the pick of our nationwide team rather than whoever is free at a local branch.

Do you run maths classes in Hamilton?

Not group classes. One-on-one maths lessons, online, weekly, matched to your child. If you have been searching for maths classes in Hamilton, this is the individual version of that.

What does tutoring cost in Hamilton?

One-hour weekly lessons from $58 (junior) to $70 (adult), online 1:1. A full junior numeracy and literacy assessment is $249. No lock-in contracts, ever.

Can you help with NCEA subjects?

Yes, NCEA Levels 1 to 3 across more than 12 subjects, plus CAA co-requisite preparation for Year 10s and seniors.
