Tutoring in Taupō, because your child counts

Taupō students learn with Impact Tutoring online: one-on-one weekly lessons in maths, English and NCEA subjects with a tutor matched to them, not whoever happens to be free. It is the same approach our Waikato Hubs have run for over a decade, delivered to your living room.

Built around Taupō students

There is no dedicated tutoring centre in Taupō, which means local students have mostly had to make do with group sessions or nothing. Online 1:1 changes that: students from Taupō-nui-a-Tia College, Tauhara College and the local primary and intermediate schools get the same matched-tutor support as students in the big centres, without anyone driving to Hamilton.

Every student starts with a relaxed phone call so we understand what is going on at school, then we match them with the right tutor. Juniors can begin with a full numeracy and literacy assessment so lessons target the real gaps from day one.

How online lessons work

  • One-on-one, live with your child's own matched tutor
  • Same tutor, same day and time, every week
  • Built around their school programme, from Year 1 to NCEA Level 3 and adult learning
  • Plain-English progress updates for parents

Your nearest Hub: Te Awamutu Hub

Impact began in Te Awamutu, about 90 minutes from Taupō, where our founder Jean McKenzie still runs the original Hub network.

Te Awamutu Hub is locally owned and run by Narelle Brooks. In-person lessons there are 1:2, online lessons are 1:1, and both follow the same Impact approach.
