Tutoring in Balclutha, because your child counts
Balclutha and South Otago families use Impact Tutoring for weekly one-on-one lessons online: maths, English and NCEA subjects with a tutor matched to your child after a relaxed phone call.
Built around Balclutha students
South Otago High School and the district's primaries, Rosebank and Balclutha School among them, serve a wide rural catchment with no tutoring centre anywhere near it. Dunedin is an hour north. For a Clutha Valley student, online 1:1 is not a second-best option; it is the first real one.
Every student starts with a relaxed phone call so we understand what is going on at school, then we match them with the right tutor. Juniors can begin with a full numeracy and literacy assessment so lessons target the real gaps from day one.
How online lessons work
- One-on-one, live with your child's own matched tutor
- Same tutor, same day and time, every week
- Built around their school programme, from Year 1 to NCEA Level 3 and adult learning
- Plain-English progress updates for parents
What it costs
One-hour weekly lessons, online 1:1: from $58 for juniors through to $70 for adult learners. A full junior assessment is $249. No lock-in contracts, ever.
No Hub in Balclutha yet. Maybe that is you.
Impact Hubs are locally owned by people who know their community and their schools. Balclutha is exactly the kind of place we would love to see one. If you are an educator who has thought about running your own tutoring business, we should talk.
