Tutoring in Cambridge, because your child counts
Cambridge families are closer to Impact's home than anyone: the original Te Awamutu Hub is twenty minutes away for in-person lessons, with one-on-one online tutoring for weeks when sport, music and everything else Cambridge kids do gets in the way.
Built around Cambridge students
This is a town of full calendars - rowing, cycling, music, Saturday sport - and tutoring has to fit around all of it. That is why Cambridge students, whether at Cambridge High, St Peter's or the local primaries, often mix Hub visits with online weeks: same tutor, same plan, whichever format the week allows.
Every student starts with a relaxed phone call so we understand what is going on at school, then we match them with the right tutor. Juniors can begin with a full numeracy and literacy assessment so lessons target the real gaps from day one.
How online lessons work
- One-on-one, live with your child's own matched tutor
- Same tutor, same day and time, every week
- Built around their school programme, from Year 1 to NCEA Level 3 and adult learning
- Plain-English progress updates for parents
What it costs
One-hour weekly lessons, online 1:1: from $58 for juniors through to $70 for adult learners. A full junior assessment is $249. No lock-in contracts, ever.
Your nearest Hub: Te Awamutu Hub
Impact began twenty minutes down the road: our original Te Awamutu Hub, where founder Jean McKenzie still works, serves Cambridge families in person.
Te Awamutu Hub is locally owned and run by Narelle Brooks. In-person lessons there are 1:2, online lessons are 1:1, and both follow the same Impact approach.
Cambridge tutoring questions, answered
Is there an Impact Tutoring centre in Cambridge?
Our original Hub is in Te Awamutu, about twenty minutes away, where Impact started more than a decade ago. Cambridge families use it in person, learn online 1:1, or mix the two around busy weeks.
Do you run maths classes in Cambridge?
We run matched tutoring rather than group classes: 1:2 in person at the Te Awamutu Hub or 1:1 online. The whole hour goes on your child's actual gaps, which beats a class for most students.
What does tutoring cost for Cambridge students?
One-hour weekly lessons from $58 (junior) to $70 (adult). A full junior numeracy and literacy assessment is $249. No lock-in contracts.
Can lessons flex around sport seasons?
Yes. The weekly slot is consistent by default because consistency drives results, but we work with you when seasons change the family timetable.
