Our StoryBecause You Count

Founded by one educator. Grown by people who care.

Impact Tutoring started twelve years ago with Jean McKenzie and a simple belief - that every student counts. Today it's a growing franchise network of locally owned Education Hubs across New Zealand, each run by someone who lives where you live.

2014

One educator, one belief

Jean founds Impact Tutoring in Te Awamutu. Because You Count.

2024

The next step

After a decade of perfecting the approach, Jean opens Impact to franchising. In January 2025, Far North opens as the first franchise Hub.

Today

A growing network

Three locally owned Hubs - Te Awamutu, Far North, Hawke's Bay - plus online tutoring NZ-wide and the Need 2 Know Maths Club.

Next

More communities

Thousands of children helped, and the next Hubs already taking shape. Maybe in your town.

Jean McKenzie

The founder

It all starts with Jean.

Educator, innovator and founder of the Mathematics for a Lifetime Charitable Trust, Jean built Impact Tutoring on a conviction that grades follow confidence - not the other way round. Her story is the network's story.
