I get some version of this question nearly every week now, usually from someone who has typed "tutoring franchise for sale" into Google late at night: is there one near me? I love that question, because the honest answer is more interesting than a yes or no, and it tells you something real about how we actually grow.
We do not sell territories. We grow into them.
Every Impact Tutoring Hub we have opened started the same way: real demand, from real families, in a real town, before we committed to it. Narelle did not go looking for a new town. She took over the Hub I started in Te Awamutu, and from there, the Otorohanga area grew on its own, families driving into Te Awamutu for tutoring until it made more sense to put a Hub closer to where they lived. Anna built the Far North Hub from nothing, and it has since grown to reach Kaitaia too, because the need kept showing up. That is not a map exercise. That is a region telling you it is ready.
So when someone asks "is there a tutoring franchise for sale in my town," what I actually want to know is: does your town need one? Because if it does, that matters more than whether a listing says "available."
Where the room actually is right now
Our three signed territories cover Te Awamutu and its districts, the Far North, and Hawke's Bay. Everywhere else in New Zealand is open, and some of it is more than open, it is asking. We are hearing real interest from families and would-be franchisees in places like Nelson, Marlborough and New Plymouth, and none of those regions have a dedicated local tutoring provider of their own yet. If you live in one of those places, or somewhere like them, you are not looking at a gap in our map. You are looking at a gap in your own town that nobody local has filled.
That is the difference between "for sale" and "available." A franchise that is technically for sale in a town with no real demand is a bad buy no matter how low the entry fee looks. A town with real demand and no provider is worth far more than a crowded city suburb, even if nobody has put a price tag on it yet.
Why the entry point matters more here than it does elsewhere
This is where I will say the thing that actually sets us apart, because it is not just about where. It is about what it costs you to find out if a town is ready.
Plenty of education franchises ask you to sign a commercial lease, fit out a room, and buy a bank of computers before a single family has paid you anything. That is a serious financial commitment to make on a guess about demand. If the guess is wrong, you are stuck with the lease either way.
An Impact Tutoring Hub does not ask that of you. You can start in a hired hall, a church room or a community centre, and only move to leased premises once your student numbers actually prove the town out. Entry is $29,000 plus GST, covering training, our systems and our IP: the assessment tools, the teaching resources, and a brand families already trust. There is a 5% royalty paid quarterly after that, and flexible payment options if you need to hold your territory while you get ready. You are growing from there.
If you are the one searching
If you are the person who typed "tutoring franchise for sale" into Google and landed here, here is what I would actually ask instead: not "is there one for sale near me," but "does my town need one, and can I find that out without betting everything on the answer." That second question is the one worth your time.
I call the people who take this on torchbearers, because that is closer to what is really happening. They are not buying a spot on a map. They are carrying something I built in Te Awamutu thirteen years ago into a town that is ready for it, in their own way, at their own pace. Shifting my thinking into a much bigger picture so that kids everywhere in New Zealand can benefit from Impact Tutoring is an exciting, new journey.
Have a proper look at our franchise page to see how the Hub model works, request the information pack for the real detail on costs and territories, or take two minutes on the readiness quiz if you want an honest read on whether your town, and you, are ready. Whatever town you are thinking of, I would rather you find out properly than guess from a listing.
