Defensive Driving school lessons on offer
Your defensive driving facilitator is Sheryl Moffat, Sheryl has been a professional driver for
over 30 years.
Sheryl spent 22 years as a Taxi driver and 10 years as a Taxi Company Manager.
During this time, she drove 10 and 12-hour shifts night and day, through rain, floods, and
foggy nights. This taught her how to be an alert and safe driver, a great part of this time was
transporting special needs children in a total mobility vehicle to and from school and outside
activities and transporting senior citizens and wheelchair patients to hospital and doctor’s
appointments.
In 2013 she started a driving school in Cambridge and has enjoyed passing her driving
knowledge onto helping volunteers support new immigrants to become safe and confident
drivers as well as teaching people of all ages and driving levels to become confident on our
roads
She has been holding defensive driving courses monthly in Cambridge and Te Awamutu for
the last six years, this course helps restricted license holders gain the experience they need to
become safer more confident drivers and it also allows them to get six months off their
restricted license time allowing them to gain their NZ full licence earlier.
Classes will now be held in Te Awamutu at Impact Tutoring Education Hub.
