Welcome Sarah with your Music skills

Sarah Carroll - Music Theory Tutor

Hello, My name is Sarah Carroll, and I'm excited to join the Impact Tutoring team as an in-person music theory tutor. I'm passionate about teaching, creating and performing music and I hope to enable our students to gain the confidence and knowledge they need to succeed as a musician.

I currently also teach music at Te Awamutu Intermediate School and previously to this have worked within Secondary schools as a Music Specialist so I have a broad understanding of what is required at each level of your music journey. I hope to be of assistance to those who require guidance in Music Knowledge or Theory and Aural skills for exams in NCEA levels 1-3, which we can start learning towards from year 9 . I can also offer workshopping on composition (song writing) techniques and understanding how different instruments can come together to make your compositions complete.

Aside from school music teaching, I am currently Musical Director for the Te Awamutu Brass Band who compete regionally and Nationally against other bands, involved in musical theatre with school and TALOS, run the school choir, and play a variety of instruments myself like Piano, Saxophone, Euphonium,  and Vocals to name a few.
I am enthusiastic, patient, encouraging, and positive and I believe wonderful things can happen within the Arts when people have the confidence to back themselves and a place or community to feel like they belong. Let's learn about the marvels and wonders of music together and create that confidence within you to pass those written internals and external exams.
